National Community Radio Day 2025
The 1st of February saw the first county wide link up of all the community radio stations. With the technical support of Pete Appleyard, Meah Howlett, Nathan Hunkin and the team as well as support from Daphne Skinnard of Radio Cornwall, we were able to facilitate a six hour broadcast featuring an hour from each of the following stations:-
- 10am - Chaos Radio
- 11am - Island FM
- 12pm - Coast FM
- 1pm - SourceFM
- 2pm - CHBN
- 3pm - NCB Radio
Listen to SourceFM's Contribution
Our contribution was supported by Andy Coote (Host), Ben Davis, Elly Owen (Host), Helen Read, Jules Kay, Nicola Burgess, Maz Griffiths, Simon Neild (Host), Steve Gruitt, Tony Martin, William Essex (New Presenter) and Victoria Dinham (Host).

One of our long standing presenters, Jules Kay (alias Mr Parklive!) spoke about the origins of Parklive, and the importance of the forthcoming Re-Source Project.

Presenters William Essex, Victoria Dinham, Andy Coote, Jules Kay and Steve Gruitt brave the cold weather for a group photo.
Presenter Helen Read (Life What Happens when you Die and the Thought for the Day pieces) was still in London so made the effort to join us on-line.

For our hour, we set out to show the diversity of our station by speaking with a range of presenters and hearing their thoughts on Community Radio and why they love it.

Nicola Burgess, the ReSource officer for the Town council also spoke about the project.

The office was full of presenters waiting to come on and tell their story!
Shown here are Maz Griffiths (Tuesday Breakfast), William Essex (Our newest presenter taking over the Story hour) and Steve Gruitt (Punky Reggae Party)
The hour of chat with the presenters was supported with music written and performed by local Falmouth Musicans.
The featured - Disappointments, Wake the River, Brytevibes, Mog Jones, Jules Berry and Simon LaTarche (presenter of Jazz Train and Jazz Train Live)

For those interested in the technical aspect of this, we simply used the Cleanfeed internet site to link all the stations via the Chaos radio server. This allowed each of the community stations to be able to pick up and relay the broadcast from the station currently on air.
We are looking forward to lots more collaborations!
