Tree Sounds of Kimberley Park

"Sownros Derow a' Park Kimberley"

Discover the secret energy and voices of trees in Kimberley Park! This innovative project led by sound artist Justin Wiggan uses groundbreaking technology to "listen" to the life force of trees, transforming it into beautiful, meditative soundscapes. Through workshops, creative activities, and interactive installations, the project aims to connect people with nature and enhance well-being.

What’s Happening?

Justin Wiggan will use biosonification—a process that transforms the bio-rhythms of living organisms into sound. Sensors capture the subtle life forces of trees, translating them into musical compositions that reflect their energy. The results will be shared through QR codes placed near 10 selected trees in Kimberley Park. By scanning the codes, visitors can hear the unique soundscapes created from each tree, turning a simple walk into an immersive journey.

Workshops and Activities

We invite you to participate in creative workshops that explore the relationship between nature, sound, and mindfulness:

Listen and Learn: Attend outdoor sessions where Justin will demonstrate the biosonification process and let you hear the trees' voices.

Creative Responses: In indoor workshops, participants will respond to the sounds through writing short nature-inspired poems (haikus). These haikus will be incorporated into the final sound pieces, adding a personal and poetic dimension to the experience.
